Kahramanmaraş Istiklal University, as one of the institutions most affected by the earthquake, will organize a symposium titled Earthquake and Space on 06-08 February 2024, the anniversary of the earthquake, at the center of the 6 February Earthquakes. In the 1st International İstiklal Symposium, interdisciplinary studies within the scope of the relationship between earthquake and physical environment and experts in their fields are invited to discuss this destructive process's past, present, and future. 

The aim of the symposium is to evaluate the sociological, psychological, and physical effects, causes, and consequences of earthquakes in the spatial context by bringing together expert researchers on the subject at the national and international levels. In the symposium, studies from all fields in the list are accepted without limitation of subject. Studies related to earthquakes and space will be presented in special sessions on Earthquake and Space. 

The conference language will be English, and the papers can be presented in English or Turkish.
